Wagering requirement calculator
Work out how much you need to bet to clear a casino bonus, how many spins it takes and what it costs on average, with the UK’s 10x wagering cap built in.
Only matters if the wagering applies to deposit and bonus together.
Since 19 January 2026, UK licensed casinos can’t set wagering above 10x on new bonuses.
Find this in the game’s info or help screen.
How the wagering calculator works
A wagering requirement is the total you must bet before bonus money turns into cash you can withdraw. The calculator multiplies the bonus (or deposit plus bonus) by the wagering requirement. Then it adjusts for game weighting: if a game only counts 10%, every £1 you stake only clears 10p.
Next it works out the average cost. Every bet loses a small share on average, called the house edge, which is 100% minus the RTP. Multiply your real stakes by the house edge and you get the average cost of clearing the bonus. Take that away from the bonus and you have a rough idea of what the offer is worth.
Worked example: a £10 bonus with 10x wagering means £100 of bets. At 50p a spin that’s 200 spins. On a 96% RTP slot, £100 of bets costs about £4 on average, so the bonus is worth about £6.
Questions
Is the average cost what I will lose?
No. It’s the long-run average. In one session you could finish well ahead or lose your whole balance, especially on high-volatility slots.
Why does game weighting matter so much?
If a game counts 10%, you need to stake ten times as much to clear the same wagering, so the cost goes up tenfold. Slots usually count 100%.
What is the UK wagering cap?
